Abstract: Acrylonitrile (AN) and itaconic acid (IA) were used to synthesize UHMWPAN by aqueous suspension method with 2,2’-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator and polyvinylalcohol (PVA) as the disperser at different temperatures (55°C~75°C) for different timings (1.0h~3.0h). The usage amounts of AN, IA, AIBN and PVA were also technical polymerization parameters used to obtain the optimal polymerization process. We found that the conversion and the viscosity average molecular weight both achieved the optimum levels when the conditions were as follows: the total monomer concentration (21wt%), the monomer ratio (AN: IA=98:2), the usage amount of the initiator (AIBN, 0.01wt%), the usage amount of the disperser (PVA, 0.1wt%), the polymerization temperature (70°C) and the polymerization time (2h).

Abstract: The establishment of eco-industrial parks can not only reduce the costs of waste disposal and the purchase of raw materials, but also has a positive impact on both economy and environment. By setting Shanghai as an example, a model of the eco-industrial park was described and the design plan and operating procedures of the park were provided in this paper. Then the benefits of this park were discussed. It may bring about some practicable approaches for the development of China’s eco-industrial parks through a specific analysis as well as the presentation of an operating model.

Abstract: Feathers, as a waste, are produced in large quantities from poultry processing industry every year. In this paper, feathers were biodegraded by Stenotrophomonas maltophilia DHHJ which was isolated from soil samples. The results show that the optimal conditions for the feather degradation and the keratinase production are 2.5% feather as substrate, the initial pH of 7.8 and cultivation at 40 °C for 5 days. Salts, KCl and NaCl, can increase feather degradation slightly. The proper concentration of Tween 80 can enhance keratinase production significantly. EDTA, as a metalloprotease inhibitor, greatly inhibits keratinolytic activity.

Abstract: Emergy analysis provides a new way of thinking about the uniform evaluation of natural resource, human society and economy, and leads to some new analysis methods for industrial ecology system. Some existing related theories are summarized and analyzed. On the basis of them, this paper proposes some methods where emergy theory can be applied to analysis of industrial ecology system.

Abstract: Pure ZnO and SnO2-ZnO nanofibers were synthesized by electrospinning method and characterized via X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The structure and methanol sensing properties of these fibers were investigated. The results indicate that the 20 wt% SnO2-ZnO sensor exhibits considerable sensitivity, rapid response, and good selectivity against methanol at 200 °C due to the special 1D fibers properties and the promoting effect of SnO2/ZnO heterojunction structure. The methanol sensing mechanism of SnO2 -ZnO nanofibers were also discussed.

Abstract: At first, the paper introduces the international development trends of textiles, and indicates that we must conform to the ecological textile to resolve the green barriers. Then the paper introduces the concept and the essence of this ecological design, and raises the ways that achieves ecological textile from ecological evolving, ecological running, ecological designing, etc. At last, the paper introduces the ways of realizing ecological textile from four factors which are using regeneration material, reducing material consumption, elevating textile life and reusing the castoff textile.
