Abstract: The landslide with static liquefaction often occurs in loose fill slopes with silty sand for the rainfall, causing lots of casualties and property loss. This study performed a series of static CU triaxial tests to investigate the influence of Bentonite content on the static liquefaction behavior of sand. The results indicate that there exists a critical value, below what increasing the Bentonite content reduces the resistance to static liquefaction. However, above the value the resistance to static liquefaction is increased with the rise of Bentonite content. This conclusion can be applied to manage the disaster triggered by the landslide with static liquefaction.

Abstract: The 21st century is the new era which mankind develop and utilize the ocean,In order to exploit and utilize of marine resources, the bucket foundation is emerged under this condition. In the process, a lot of marine soft soil materials is inevitably encountered with in engineering practice. Traditionally, the bucket foundation is only a upside-down bucket and no compartment is set inside. Using the finite element method, this paper makes a systematical expatiation on the research on the horizontal bearing capacity of bucket foundation with marine soft soil materials under cyclic loading conditions.

Abstract: With the fast development of technology and growth of population, humans began large-scale construction for artificial island. In the field of artificial island research, settlement calculation is pay great attention. According to the geological data surveyed from one artificial island in northern china, using layer-wise summation method and finite element method which based on effective stress theory and Darcy law, the final settlement of the island is calculated. In the meantime, the result of two methods is comparatively analysis.

Abstract: With the fast development of technology, offshore wind power generation is playing a major role for developing renewable sources in the whole world nowadays. According to the proposed Hangzhou Bay wind farm in China, using general-purpose finite element software, bearing capacity behaviors of the multi-piles foundation for offshore wind turbine are simulated in this paper by the 3D finite element method. The Mohr - Coulomb model is adopted as the elastic - plastic constitutive model of the soil and also the Coulomb Friction model as the pile - soil contact model. The bearing capacity behavior of multi-piles foundation for offshore wind turbines under monotonic and combined loading are discussed, also the bearing capacity behaviors by changing diameters, spaces of piles and loading directions as well.

Abstract: As the development of exploiting marine resources, many ocean platforms were built. But there is still a problem unsolved completedly. The suction force between seabed soil and ocean platform perplexed jackup technically and is discussed in the article. The comparisons between model experiments and Skempton's Model are much helpful to realize the significance of suction force.

Abstract: Soil liquefaction due to the earthquake causes serious damages and engineering problems, such as the reduction of the soil strength, large settlement of the ground surface, the flow of liquefied soil and the uplift behavior to the underground structures, and the large deformation induced by the uplift force threatens the stability and safety of the structures. In this paper, a FE-FD coupled method is used in the simulation, the cyclic elasto-plastic constitutive model and the updated lagrangian formulation are applied to deal with the material and geometrical nonlinearity of liquefied soil. The results show that after the earthquake, the exceed pore water pressure will still exist for some time and the structure has an obvious vertical uplift displacement related to the liquefied area and the flow of liquefied soil. The uplift displacement will decrease as the thickness of the upper liquefiable soil layer is reduced. The results can be regarded as a guidance and reference for the design of the large underground structures.
