Formation, Declination and Rebuilding of City Features

Abstract:

Feature decline is a common phenomenon in our city nowadays. Taking the cities in southwest china for example, this paper discusses conception and formation of urban morphology,sums up the influencing factors, and concludes the law that urban morphology fits the function, adapts to the environment. Furthermore, it also discovers the mechanism that explains how all this happens. Then, the paper analyses the reasons of feature decline, gets the inspiration that the aim of building characteristic city is not chasing some certain shape, but inheriting and developing the way of making use of nature, building city which satisfying the function and environment.
